Graeme Murray first picked up a camera aged 14 and learned to process and print the pictures he shot using traditional darkroom techniques. After turning professional with his image making he took up an opportunity to work with one of New Zealand’s top AV production companies and spent seven years honing his skills in multimedia, theatrical lighting, interactive graphics, and even pyrotechnics.
Now a successful photographer for well over a decade, Graeme has worked all around the world and says that he takes pleasure in the days when the outdoors can be his office. He works locally and internationally with advertising agencies and clients shooting a diverse range of subjects from portraiture to still life and from action to landscape photography. Graeme is as comfortable in the ocean as he is up a mountain or in studios with huge lighting setups.
In his spare time you will find him out riding his MTB, surfing, foiling, kite surfing, snowboarding and even maintaining MTB tracks. His work has been featured in many international exhibits including Red Bull Illume’s world show, Mad Mike’s photo exhibit, and putting on the world’s first mountain bike photo exhibit. The exhibition had images shot by the world’s best MTB photographers and was held during the World MTB Champs in NZ. The beauty and excitement of this world keeps me travelling and discovering new places as much as possible.
